The Symbolic Language and Surrealism of “Eternal/Beneath” by Artist Jason Vivona

Jason Vivona creates a dream-like world with his sewn paper collages. While travelling, Vivona fills sheets of paper with surreal drawings of anthropomorphic animal human hybrids, text, climbing ferns, and his own symbolic language. When he returns to his studio, he cuts up and layers his ink drawings, mixing in abstract expressionist color fields to create cohesive compilations with his sewing machines.

His upcoming solo exhibition “ETERNAL/BENEATH” is being presented on October 14th, 2016 by SP Projects at The Convent, in Philadelphia, PA. To RSVP click here.
