Are Clichés a Memetic Fractal Pattern?

“In the mind’s eye, a fractal is a way of seeing infinity.” — James Gleick

Artist/musician Hiérophante created a perspective-shifting music video/animation called “Clichés”, which is a collage of the common clichés that occur in the digital world.

Hiérophante describes the project by saying…

“I took advantage of our tendency to be unoriginal on social media to make this animation. Everything from images search to editing is made “by hand” without any automated software.
Some people point out to me that some similar videos already exists so it seems that making a video about clichés is a cliché too…”

Part of our human condition is replication…as we learn by example, and from that example comes the birth of a “memeplex” (a collection or grouping of memes that have evolved into a mutually supportive or symbiotic relationship. Simply put, a meme-complex is a set of ideas that reinforce each other).

The video is a creative representation of the memetic fractal pattern reinforced through social media.
